Marksman Rifles are rarely the most popular weapons in CoD, as typically you either use an assault rifle or go for a sniper. However, in Modern Warfare 3, things have changed because assault rifles now require significantly more hits for a kill due to their higher TTK (Time to Kill), and snipers, while powerful, are slow.
MMRs bridge the gap here, offering higher damage than assault rifles and more mobility than snipers. The DM56 stands out in this regard because it has excellent handling for its class and can take down any enemy with just two shots.

Since we can't really increase the effective TTK of the DM56, and we always need two shots for a kill, we can focus on improving handling instead of damage. The stock, laser, and underbarrel all contribute to better ADS (Aim Down Sight) speed and overall better movement and handling stats. With the suppressor, we won't appear on the minimap, and the sight is necessary because the irons are trash.
However, if you plan to use the DM56 in Warzone, consider using a sight with magnification.

Quick weapon switching is never a bad idea for an MMR, as you may need to switch to your secondary weapon quickly. Increased strafe speed when aiming can also be helpful, and having some extra protection against explosions is always a good choice.
