Call of Duty's Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season 3 update is almost there. A lot of new features were officially announced, so one might think that the whole community is super excited for Season 3 on April 12. In reality, the tension between fans and publishers was never this heated.
There should have been reactions of excitement and joy when Call of Duty released further information about the Season 3 update on April 12.
But surprisingly, the community is more disappointed than ever before.
So, is the general hate about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 understandable?
WZ2 & MW2 Community Unhappy With New Season 3 Announcement
I think it certainly is. If you compare the excitement about the game a few years ago to nowadays, it's just a massive decrease of people actually enjoying the game. But why did it happen?
Since the release of the game in October 2022 the Call of Duty community has constantly been disappointed.
The list of problems is definitely too long, so here are some of the major issues we had so far:
- bad movement
- TTK (time to kill) and weapons not balanced
- weird match-making
- too many patches with no outcome
- too many camper spots
- gameplay is not smooth
- massively criticized map-pool
- too many attachments for weapons
Sadly, this includes Modern Warfare 2 as well as Warzone 2. The community's expectations don't match with the game, even after several updates.
On Twitter, fans share their disappointment around the clock.
If the game doesn't change, I hate to break it to you but allowing players to use already existing player models from a 7 month old Campaign will do nothing for you.

ay man we need fixed TTK, all mechanics in game sped up, dolphin dive or sliding fix so it's actually USEFUL
One last comment even ranks Battlefield 2042 above Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. A huge statement for those 2 competitors.
