Here you can find everything about the next Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3. We have collected all the news, leaks and rumors about CoD 2023, including the expected release date.
Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 got off to a record start, but unfortunately they both lost popularity quickly. Some streamers spoke of the game being dead just a few months after release.
But who cares, because we're already getting news about the upcoming CoD 2023 (we never learn). Contrary to rumors suggesting MW2 would have a two-year cycle, Activision has now apparently changed its mind and wants to bring a new Call of Duty premium title out in 2023.
In this article, we have collected all the information about the new Call of Duty 2023, which will be Modern Warfare 3.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3: Release Date
Finally, MW3 has been officially announced! And yes, our predictions were on point, since Modern Warfare 3 will be released on November 10, 2023.
Leaker Tom Henderson, who already predicted this date months ago, is a well-known leaker who has often been right about Call of Duty and has good contacts in the industry. He was also already talking about two beta weekends and a campaign early access:
Henderson assumes a similar release schedule to Modern Warfare 2 and accordingly speaks of two beta weekends and a campaign early access on the following dates. The alpha dates are from a separate leak:
- Alpha (probably closed): 26. May - 2. June
- Beta Weekend 1 (PS4/PS5): 6.-10. October 2023
- Beta Weekend 2 (all platforms): 12.-16. October 2023
- Campaign Early Access (all platforms): 2. November 2023

Modern Warfare 3 Coming for PlayStation, Xbox & PC
According to current rumors, CoD 2023 or MW3, like Modern Warfare 2, will once again be released for both last- and current-gen consoles. So the game will be released for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
However, Microsoft announced that they intend to bring future CoDs to Nintendo Switch as well, should their acquisition of Activision Blizzard go through.
CoD 2023: Premium Title Or DLC?
Until recently, we assumed a two-year cycle for Modern Warfare 2. The general consensus in the CoD community was that Modern Warfare 2 would run for two years before Treyarch's next premium title was released in 2024 – presumably the next entry in the Black Ops series.
In 2023, only a DLC was supposed to be released, which would contain new maps and a continuation of the MWII story. However, according to the latest rumors CoD 2023 will be a full premium title, developed by Sledgehammer Games. If the latest leaks are to be believed, CoD 2023 will be called Modern Warfare 3 and thus continue the Modern Warfare 2 story and probably end the Modern Warfare Reboot series.
Modern Warfare 3 Will Be Integrated Into Warzone 2
As with the games that followed MW2019 in Warzone 1, the upcoming MW3 will be integrated into Warzone 2. That means all the new MW3 weapons will simply be added to the pool of current Warzone 2 weapons, rather than replacing them.
Insider Gaming suggests that MW3 will be integrated into Warzone 2 when MW3 Season 1 begins, which is presumably on December 5, 2023. Its introduction will also come with a new Warzone Map called Las Almas, which is already known from the Modern Warfare 2 campaign. And can be seen here:

Modern Warfare 3 Zombies
Yes, you heard that right, apparently Modern Warfare 3 will have a Zombies mode. According to recent rumors, it won't be the classic round based Zombies though, but basically Outbreak 2.0. So it will be a huge Map to roam, slay Zombies and complete objectives. However, the rumors are also saying that Activision is still weighing the possibilities on if the mode should be part of the premium title or rather be released as a free-to-play experience.
Leaked Screenshots Reveal Two Modern Warfare 3 Maps: "Terminal" & "Scrapyard"
Very convincing screenshots of Terminal and Scrapyard (originally from 2009's MW2) have leaked online. This confirms previous rumors from reliable CoD leaker "GhostofHope", who already said MW3 will include a remaster of the fan-favorite map "Terminal". He announced this by tweeting out a GIF of how fans will react when it comes true:

Modern Warfare 3: Ninja Perk & Red-Dots / Classic Minimap Returning
According to leakers who were sharing details during the alpha of MW3 (July 16), both the Ninja perk and the classic minimap (which shows red-dots when an enemy fires unsuppressed) will be returning in Modern Warfare 3. Here is an article that details the full minimap/Ninja leaks. But, long story short, these leakers have been reliably in the past and so we do generally trust the information, even if we are not certain.
That's all we know about CoD 2023 so far. As soon as there is more information about the upcoming Call of Duty, you will find it here. Until then, you should check out our Warzone 2.0 weapon ranking.
