Battlefield 2042 has finally launched. Now it's time to get into the details: what are the best weapons and what attachment setups do you want? Here's the best loadout for the VCAR.
Get a wrapped suppressor on this puppy and you're looking at the coolest weapon in Battlefield 2042. So slick, so fun, so tactical. Seriously though, it's a really solid weapon provided you have the trigger finger for semi-autos. So let's dig into the perfect attachment setup for the VCAR.

Best Attachments for the VCAR
The VCAR is surprisingly versatile so you'll find equipping these three attachment setups in the three available slots (one of the best features about Battlefield 2042) will prepare you for every scenario.
Best Setup | Best Short-Range Setup | Best Long-Range Setup
Sight | K8 Holo | K8 Holo | Bravo 3X |
Ammunition | Close Combat / Drum | Close Combat Extended | Standard Issue |
Underbarrel | Cobra Grip | LS-1 Laser Sight | Cobra Grip |
Barrel | 6KU Suppressor | Shortened Barrel | Extended Barrel |
Having all three setups will be particularly useful on this weapon because it isn't half bad with the long-range attachments at distance, but to really get the full potential out of a VCAR you need to push in and play aggressively. The LS-1 Laser Sight with increased hip-fire accuracy will be particularly useful when you do and should make this bizarre little weapon pretty lethal, even when you're right up in people's faces.
You can see the effects of these three attachment setups beneath.
Attachment Effects on the VCAR
Default | Best Setup | Best Short-Range Setup | Best Long-Range Setup
Firepower | 46 | 41 (-5) | 46 (0) | 51 (+5) |
Accuracy | 58 | 63 (+5) | 63 (+5) | 73 (+15) |
Range | 60 | 62 (+2) | 55 (-5) | 70 (+10) |
Handling | 42 | 32 (-10) | 47 (+5) | 32 (-10) |
The best setup takes a heavy hit to handling because it uses the ammo drum, and you might prefer to use the short-range build as your primary instead because of this. But we've been finding extra ammo capacity absolutely crucial in Battlefield 2042; gunfights take place at fairly long ranges and the TTKs are quite high, so smaller mags will often require a reload mid-fight. But that's where you'll need to experiment with the two yourself and see which you prefer.
Best Specialist, Secondary Weapon, Throwable & Gadget for the VCAR
Specialist: Ji-Soo Paik
Ji-Soo Paik is just better than other Specialists. I'm sorry if we sound annoyed about that, but frankly, she represents poor game design. If you don't know, Ji-Soo Paik ahs wallhacks, so when you're using a weapon that can handle itself in the cut and thrust of CQC, she's a perfect choice.
Secondary Weapon: MP28
The MP28 is like a mini-VCAR, and we're big fans of both. What it gives you that the other sidearms don't is a fantastically well-balanced stat distribution. This allows the MP28 to step in and do the work of a primary weapon if you run out of ammo.
Throwable: Incendiary
With Ji-Soo Paik you know the direction enemies are going to be coming from so with Incendiary grenades you can deny a push very effectively with incendiary grenades. Of course, if you want to play a little more passively, then perhaps smokes are the way to go.
Gadget: FXM 33 AA Missile
This is the best gadget in Battlefield 2042 and I will die on that hill. It makes taking on an Apache as easy as swatting flies. And you get plenty of missiles to do it with. Perfect!
Well, there you have it, folks, the complete rundown of how to build the best attachment setup and loadout for the VCAR.
